This policy explains the information handled when you read with Mazelingo and use this website.
Your text and reading data
Text you enter is sent to a translation service to create the selected bilingual reading view. Mazelingo does not use your text or its translation to train AI models.
We store the sentences and translations on our servers so you can change the translation difficulty while reading. They are used only to display your reading and change its difficulty, and are not shared with other users. We may also store translations without linking them to your account to display repeated sentences faster.
Titles and contents of recently read texts are also stored on your device. Deleting items from History removes the copies on that device. To request deletion of texts and translations stored on our servers, contact us below with the email address of the Google account you use to sign in. We will verify the request before deleting the data.
Cookies and usage information
We store an identifying cookie in your browser to manage free usage limits. We also record reading usage and actions within the service.
To manage trials without login, we store an identifier generated from the connecting IP address. We do not store the IP address itself.
Public pages may use Google Analytics 4 to understand website usage.
Public pages may use Microsoft Clarity to record actions such as clicks and scrolling to improve usability. We do not record the reader or account pages.
Chrome extension
The Chrome extension extracts the current page's text and heading only when you select Start mixed reading. It does not store or send the page URL. The text and heading remain only in the extension's temporary storage until handed to the Mazelingo web reader, and are deleted after the handoff or a set time.
The extension stores your English amount, difficulty, and theme settings in your browser for next time. Text sent to the web reader is handled as described in Your text and reading data above.
External services
We use an external translation service for translations. Fonts are served from the Mazelingo website.
