How to use Mazelingo

Try the reading view with a sample first. Using your own text is simple too.

Read in the language you are learning

Choose a reading mode and paste text in its source language. Sign in with Google to generate your own reading, or try a sample without signing in.

Tap a sentence to switch between the original and translation. The slider controls the language you are learning.

1. Paste the text you want to read

Paste Japanese text into the web reader. Choose news, a blog post, notes, or anything you want to read. The text field shows the character limit.

2. Choose the English difficulty

Choose Standard for natural English or Easy for more familiar vocabulary and shorter sentence structures. The wording follows the original meaning. Switch back to Japanese to check any expression.

3. Choose the amount of English

Choose from 0% to 100% in 10% steps. If you are unsure, start at 40% and adjust as you read. Changing the amount does not regenerate the text.

Reading an article from Chrome

Select and copy the body text you want to read from a news site or blog. Start with a short paragraph without headlines, ads, or related links.

Paste the copied text into the web reader and choose the English amount and difficulty. Pasting an article URL alone does not import its text.
